Built for evidence as sensitive as it gets.
Family-law matters hold some of the most personal data there is — and it may have to stand up in court. Here is how Scribe Verbatim keeps it private, secure, and defensible. The binding terms are in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
Your files are never sold, and are never used to train AI models — including the AI that transcribes recordings and answers questions. We process your content only to provide the service to you.
Everything travels over encrypted connections (TLS). Stored files, the database, and backups are encrypted at rest.
Access is checked on the server — not just hidden in the screen. People see only the cases they've been granted, limited by their role (entity manager → owner → case manager → uploader → read-only reviewer), under least-privilege controls. An uploaded file is visible only to members of that case — never to other customers, and to no one outside the case unless it's deliberately shared.
Passwords are stored only as a strong one-way hash (argon2) — never in the clear. Sessions are token-based, you can sign in with a one-time email link instead of a password, and repeated failed attempts are rate-limited.
A share link is a capability token that exposes only the single original you choose — never the transcript, summary, or anything else in the case. It can carry an expiry, is revocable at any time, and every open is logged.
Every original is fingerprinted with SHA-256 and kept unaltered under write-once (WORM) storage; derived data references the original and its checksum. Every view, search, export, share, and deletion is written to a hash-chained, tamper-evident audit log that can't be quietly altered. Collections export as a filing-ready exhibit bundle with a hash index. (Admissibility standards vary by court; this provides the technical chain-of-custody controls, not legal advice.)
Set how long a case is kept. Deleted items go to Trash first and stay recoverable until the retention period ends, then are permanently purged. A whole case can be exported as a single encrypted archive before deletion — and you can download any original at any time, so there's no lock-in.
Face and voice recognition never run unless a separate addendum is signed and per-case consent is recorded; biometric templates are destroyed on a published schedule.
